"The wild requires that we learn the terrain, nod to all the plants and animals and birds, ford the streams and cross the ridges and tell a good story when we get back home."  Gary Snyder

This project is a podcast and companion booklet where we revisit some of our most inspiring experiences as well as new and current adventures. It will likely be an ongoing work-in-progress and as such we hope it has a rough and honest feel.

Mild surprises come regularly in a wild place experienced with quiet humility. I’ve heard it said that many indigenous hunters, when setting out, will not say the name of the creature that they are hunting out of deference to the capriciousness of nature and respect for the animals that give themselves over to sustain the hunters and their families. We try to apply this respect when out in the wild. We don’t presume to know what we will discover but recognize the beauty and serendipity that may come to an open mind and an open heart.
